Fond of literature, music and any type of visual arts, from painting to drawing and obviously cinema, Aldo studied engineering to be an architect or a golf player—all to eventually find his way back to pencil, paper and the creative territories he's always been more familiar with. Having worked for more than a decade in the animation and visual effects industry, he recently started to concentrate on his personal projects with a sharper focus than his path so far might seem to have had—or at least so he says.
As senior and supervising animator his filmography includes, among other titles, Spike Jonze's WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE, Aardman's ARTHUR CHRISTMAS, the BAFTA-nominated documentary LISTEN TO ME MARLON and the VFX Oscar®–winners AVATAR and GRAVITY. He recently collaborated as VFX consultant with Oscar®–winning director Paolo Sorrentino on his latest film YOUTH and holds an on-going collaboration with the award-winning animation and live-action production company Passion Pictures.
